Tug's Boat Club is owned and managed by husband/wife team, Mollie Hagar and Bjorn Anderson. 

Mollie grew up in a sailing family and spent her summers taking lessons at a community sailing school. By the time she was 13, she had taken all the courses. Mollie wanted to be on the water and asked the owner of the school what courses or options she had to continue sailing and learning. Mollie was offered a job.

This is where Mollie developed her love of sharing sailing and boating with others. Between the age of 13 and 23, she taught sailing to both kids and adults, became the site coordinator, and was an influential leader within the organization. She became familiar and comfortable with running a small business.

This is where Mollie developed her love of entrepreneurship.

After graduating from UC Santa Cruz, Mollie moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and began working at a sailing school and club. For 10 years she helped introduce thousands to sailing and boating on SF Bay. Mollie returned to SF Bay in August 2023 after 7 years in Truckee and Sacramento. Eager to get back out on the water and share boating, she and Bjorn bought TUGS.

TUGS is a classic wooden beauty and an easy and fun way for anyone to enjoy the Bay. She’s inspiring, solid and warmly nostalgic. 

Mollie is also a licensed Yacht Salesperson and Realtor.

Bjorn is a Firefighter with Marin County Fire Department, stationed on top of Mount Tamalpais.
